Fluid couplings are designed for power transmission in high inertia machines operated in difficult operating conditions and exposed to substantial and vehement overload. The application of fluid couplings boosts smooth drive start-up, shortens electric motor operation time at high currents, reduces sudden jerks and halts and stops all dynamic load surpluses. The couplings can be used in machines intended for operation in underground mines in a, b or c hazard zones with the danger of methane explosion and at level A and B of coal dust explosion risk.
